![]() This picture was taken at a coke stand across the river from Bon Song. I am the gunner in the jeep that is pulling away. There were three jeeps and this was taken from the last one in line. It gives you a pretty good idea of what they're like. A beautiful picture to see is three or more gun jeeps (or armored jeeps - both are the same, more or less) running the highway in formation. In fact, we had just been doing this because we had gone to an ambush site and this gave us better protection and more firepower. When arrived, Charles had already left. |
![]() This is a picture of me again. I'm in the jeep that's on the truck. The two guys in the front are going on R&R and the rest of us are going down to AnKhe to have the jeep fixed and pick up the mail and to bring the truck back. I'm the one at the steering wheel. |

I didn't know this picture had been taken until somebody showed it to me. We are ready to go back on the road after eating. This was taken in back of our tent at noon. In the background you can see the Lt's quarters and it is also the C.P. in case of attack. The two individuals in the jeep are Chip Jenkins and Larry Kelly (the driver). In front of me in the rear is our M-60 machine gun (one of the best machine guns in the world). In back of my legs is the radio which serves as the gunners seat. In the bottom of jeep is the ammo for the m-60. The can on the rear is our emergency kit. That armor will stop a bullet. |

![]() This is what a thunder storm looks like approaching the L.Z. It would have been a lot better in color and with an ultra-violet filter on my lens. But I'm rather proud of this picture. It looks like there was going to be a violent storm when it really turned out to be just a regular thunder storm. |
