Here is a few explanations for some of the pix.
The kids were special because they were real friendly and they pointed out a phony "monk" who was a VC and tried to give us some bananas that were laced with poison. Of course we took him into custody.
The latrine was custom made to hold a guy that was at least 6'6". he was the one that built it. Just note the sandbags we had to put our feet on.

504th TODAY
We barbequed once in awhile when we got a reward from the guys who drove the reefer trucks. We would escort them separately because they have ice and frozen meat and the medics needed the ice asap. We would get either chicken or steaks. When the LRRPS would come out of the bush, we would try to make sure they would get some.
Spc. Shields and Sgt. Davis in the motor pool.
Plt. Sgt. "Kahuna" I can't remember his real name but that is what everyone
called him. Sgt. Davis, and SP/4 Campbell.
Sgt. Davis and SP/4 Campbell.
Grey Hound bus stop
On the left in the front is Me and "junior" I don't know his real name and I can't identify the men in the back. (Jim Cassel recognized himself as the man with his arm over the side and the other man in the back as Bob Gormsen.)
These are some kids that saved our lives. They warned us of a bogus Monk that wanted to give us bananas laced with poison.
The man that built this latrine was 6'8" tall. So he built it to his size. As you can see we have sand bags to put our feet on.
Sgt. Grey, Sgt. Davis and in the back Junior. Junior was the best machine gunner in the Platoon.
